Maharashtra Grand Challenge

Maharashtra Grand Challenge is an initiative by Maharashtra State Innovation Society to bring Innovation in Governance. Through this initiative, innovation society intends to address key challenges faced by the various department of Maharashtra by supporting and accelerating the innovative ideas and solutions. In the current edition Maharashtra State Innovation Society in association with Fisheries Department calling for innovative ideas and solutions to solve problems faced by Fisheries department.

Eligibility

Applications are open for both domestic and foreign individuals, teams, organizations, for-profit companies, non-profit organisations, academic institutions and government agencies.

Foreign national, team, institution, companies and organisation shall abide by the rules and regulations of Government of India and Government of Maharashtra. They also must fulfil all the tax norms prescribed by the Government of India and Government of Maharashtra.

Problem Statements and Prize money


Problem Statement 1

Automation of Large-scale fishpond

Prize amount – upto 5 lakhs
Pilot Amount – upto 15 lakhs

Problem Statement 2

Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and BioFloc (BF) technology

Prize amount – upto 5 lakhs
Pilot Amount – upto 15 lakhs

Problem Statement 3

Non-Conventional Energy for boats harbours and jetties

Prize amount – upto 5 lakhs
Pilot Amount – upto 15 lakhs

Category 1. Onshore energy generation on jetties, harbours fishing villages as well as ice/cold storage/processing units in coastal areas.

Prize amount – upto 25 lakhs
Pilot Amount – upto 1 crore

Category 2. Offshore energy generation on-board fishing vessel

Prize amount – upto 25 lakhs
Pilot Amount – upto 25 lakhs

Category 3. Energy generation using waste from Bio-toilets and fish waste.

Prize amount – upto 5 lakhs
Pilot Amount – upto 25 lakhs

Category 4. Innovative solution to reduce the fuel/energy consumption

Prize amount – upto 5 lakhs
Pilot Amount – upto 10 lakhs

No! Participating in the Maharashtra Grand Challenge is free, you are required to apply through the application form.

An applicant can pitch existing solution with necessary modification for solving said problem (or) totally new solution can also be pitched

Winners will get cash rewards, financial and mentoring assistance for developing and piloting the solutions.Under no circumstances will Innovation Society or their partners will be liable to you or any third party

Applicants shall have full ownership of all intellectual and industrial property rights. Applicants represents and warrants that, to the best of his or her knowledge, any work product is participant’s own original work and is not within the intellectual property rights of any third party, including any former or current employers. If you are unsure, you should consult any former or current employment agreement to which you are a party. Under no circumstances will Innovation society will be liable to you or any third party for any damages, direct or otherwise, arising out of use of initiative’s work product.

The applicants are expected to provide feasible, scalable, implementable and cost-effective solutions to the specified problem statements. The proposals should be concise, clear and novel.
